4-3-3: Manchester United’s predicted starting XI vs West Ham: Martial & Lindelof start

After months of waiting, and a pre-season tour full of ups and downs, the return of the Premier League is here. Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United will be hoping to improve on their sixth-placed finish this term. It all starts with a home game against West Ham United.

The match itself certainly won’t be easy. The Hammers, under Bilic, are looking like a team on the up; particularly after the signing of Javier Hernandez.

However, I always back our team to do well. Ahead of the match, here is our predicted starting line-up.

As you’d expect, the gaffer will go as strong as physically possible. David de Gea will start in goal, and the returning Eric Bailly will partner Victor Lindelof at the back. Antonio Valencia had an excellent pre-season and will, of course, play, Matteo Darmian makes up the back four.

Then we go onto the midfield. Nemanja Matic looked solid in the two games he has played in so far. In front of him, Ander Herrera will start, with Paul Pogba playing in a more advanced role.

The front three is interesting. Obviously, Romelu Lukaku will get the nod. He’s looked great on tour and I’m excited to see how he goes in the Premier League. Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a shoe-in to begin. The surprise comes on the left, where I think Anthony Martial will beat out competition from Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford.
