4-3-3: Manchester United’s predicted XI vs Liverpool – Bailly & Mata start

Manchester United go head-to-head with their fiercest rivals Liverpool tomorrow, with Jose Mourinho’s team looking to grab a victory to cement their place in second.

After two come-from-behind victories against both Chelsea and Crystal Palace in recent weeks, the squad will be in confident mood, knowing that they can turn things around if needed. Obviously, they’d like to score first though…

Liverpool will provide a tough test, make no mistake about it. Anyway, after some excellent substitutions made by Mourinho recently, I genuinely think we could see a change or two made by the manager.

Check out our predicted starting line-up here:

In goal, David de Gea will obviously play. He’s world-class, probably the best in the world at what he does. In front of him, Eric Bailly will make his first start in months, probably alongside Chris Smalling. Antonio Valencia will start as the right-back, with Ashley Young making up the back four.

Nemanja Matic scored an absolute corker to secure all three points against Palace, he’ll play just in front of the back four. Paul Pogba was poor last time out, but there aren’t really any other feasible options. Jesse Lingard deserves a start, too.

Romelu Lukaku will definitely play, he’s certainly earned the undroppable tag at the moment. However, here is where the big calls should be made. Marcus Rashford should start on the left, replacing Alexis Sanchez who has struggled. Juan Mata also showed me enough to warrant a starting berth.
