4-3-3: Potential Manchester United derby XI vs City – Fellaini starts

Manchester United Football Club are going through a tough time of things at the moment, with Jose Mourinho’s men coming into the second derby of the season fresh off the back of a 4-0 thumping away at Chelsea. However, City themselves haven’t been in the greatest of form.

The game in the Capital One Cup will obviously be a closely fought event, so we’ve decided to take a look at the likely starting eleven for the match.

In goal, we’ll see David de Gea. Eric Bailly won’t be involved due to the injury he suffered in that aforementioned game at Chelsea. The back two will likely be Chris Smalling and Daley Blind, with Luke Shaw returning to the line-up in the left-back slot. Antonio Valencia will start as the right-back.

Onto the midfield trio we go, and Marouane Fellaini will play in the holding midfielder role, and he’ll have Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba in front of him, to bring that energy to the middle of the park.

Anthony Martial will get a first start in over a month, with Marcus Rashford and Zlatan Ibrahimovic making up the front three.
