4-3-3: Powerful predicted Man United XI that should dominate Southampton – Lukaku starts

Manchester United Football Club take on Southampton this weekend, in a game where ex-Red Mark Hughes is fighting for his job. Jose Mourinho’s men have been struggling this season, so they’ll have to be at their best to ensure all three points come back home in this one.

You can guarantee that the game itself will be pretty dull. Mourinho’s team have never really played an exciting style, so why should we expect anything different here? Look for United to sit back, defend for their lives and try to hit The Saints on the counter-attack.

With the game just on the horizon, we’ve compiled our predicted starting XI for the clash, and there should be a few changes from the team that narrowly managed to beat Young Boys this weekend.

Check out the predicted Man United XI here:

Fresh off his one-year contract extension, David de Gea will start in between the sticks. Now, I’m not fond of this duo, but Chris Smalling and Phil Jones will likely start as the centre-halves. Luke Shaw will play at left-back, with Ashley Young making up the defence over on the right.

Nemanja Matic has been struggling recently, but he is an untouchable under Mourinho so will play. Marouane Fellaini deserves to start, with Paul Pogba making up the XI after being dropped in midweek.

Romelu Lukaku will lead the line as he looks to get back into goalscoring form. Anthony Martial will get the nod on the left, with Jesse Lingard making up the starting line-up.
