4-3-3: Predicted Manchester United XI vs Leicester City – Fred debut, Pereira starts

Well, folks, we’re just 24 hours away from the big kick-off. Manchester United host Leicester City at Old Trafford, in a game that could well be an excellent marker as to how our season will pan out.

After a sub-par transfer window, Jose Mourinho will largely have to utilise the squad that aided the Red Devils to a second-place finish last season. There are some superb footballers within the squad, though.

Things haven’t been easy over the summer, particularly as several faces are likely to miss out due to their World Cup participation. Hence why there is no Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba or Romelu Lukaku in this team. Don’t be surprised to see the self-proclaimed Special One throw one of these guys in at the deep end, however. My outside shout would be Pogba as we’re lacking in the midfield department.

Predicted Manchester United XI vs Leicester City:

David de Gea starts in goal. No doubt we’ll need him to be at his brilliant best once again. Eric Bailly should be fit to play, presumably alongside Chris Smalling who had a solid enough pre-season. This season is Luke Shaw’s big chance, he’ll be hoping to start as he means to go on. Matteo Darmian is the only fit right-back, so the Italian gets the nod.

Then here comes the changes. Andreas Pereira will play in his new #6 position, with Scott McTominay starting, plus new signing Fred, who’ll see his first Premier League action.

Onto the front three we go, with Juan Mata playing off the right-flank, Marcus Rashford starting on the left, with Alexis Sanchez as the main man up top. He’ll be feeling hungry after a brilliant pre-season.
