MUFC Player Ratings as Reds beat Atalanta 3-2 (Champions League home, 2021/22)

David de Gea – Couldn’t do anything about either goal. Made some unbelievable saves in the second 45. 7/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Probably the best member of United’s back four on the night. Defended decently and tried to get forward. 5/10

Victor Lindelof – Got bullied off the ball on more than one occasion. He was slightly better than his partner on the night. 4/10

Harry Maguire – Pretty poor. At fault for yet another goal as he still doesn’t look fully fit. Did score the leveller with a lovely finish. 5/10

Luke Shaw – Not his finest outing, though he’s not alone in that regard. His ball into Ronaldo for the third was absolutely out of this world, though. 5/10

Scott McTominay – Got bypassed far too easily, but he and Fred got little help from the rest of the players around them. 4/10

Fred – Had a couple of opportunities in the first half and probably should’ve done better. Worked his socks off for the cause. 5/10

Bruno Fernandes – Wasn’t at the races. His passing was sloppy and the work ethic wasn’t as high as it usually is. Played a key part in Rashford’s goal, though 4/10

Mason Greenwood – Had one or two shots in the first half, but that was as quiet as he’s been at any point this season. 4/10

Marcus Rashford – Had plenty of chances but finally grabbed his goal as the second half started. Subbed after an hour. 6/10

Cristiano Ronaldo – Quiet, but didn’t really get the service. Made up for that with a stunning header with ten minutes left on the clock. 6/10

Paul Pogba – Did very well when he came on. Always looked to make things happen.

Edinson Cavani – His workrate definitely gave the Atalanta defenders a problem.

Jadon Sancho – Offered something different down the right.

Nemanja Matic – Not enough time to mark.
