Manchester United have made some excellent signings over the summer, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prioritising the defence. Harry Maguire has already shown his quality, as has Aaron Wan-Bissaka who looks like an outstanding signing.
The 21-year-old right-back, signed from Crystal Palace, is relatively new to the world of professional football, while making the jump up from The Eagles to the Red Devils is a pretty steep one.
Thankfully, though, it seems as if everyone at Old Trafford has welcomed Wan-Bissaka with open arms. Especially Axel Tuanzebe, who has taken the budding right-back ‘under his wing’ while the pair have become ‘quite close’.
“I’ve become quite close to Axel Tuanzebe since joining the club. He’s taken me under his wing a bit, though I must admit the whole squad has been looking after me.” Wan-Bissaka told The Guardian.
“It has been really easy to come here and feel a part of things. Nobody’s left me out of anything; they all speak with me and interact and that’s really good.”
I know I’m in the minority here but I love a good footballing bromance. You can’t beat the Spanish trio’s friendship (Herrera, Mata, De Gea before the former left), while Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford always seem to have a laugh.
It’s just good to know that the dressing room is welcoming and feeling positive about the whole situation. I had my worries a year or so ago as it felt like the players were becoming divided. Credit to Solskjaer though, as he seems to have things right back on track.
Hopefully, Wan-Bissaka can continue to improve in that right-back slot and who knows, in the not too distant future he could be playing alongside his good pal Axel!
