Aaron Wan-Bissaka is expected to be confirmed as Manchester United’s second signing of the summer today, we covered Sky Sports’ story on that claim here.
After a slow start, we’re learning more details about the transfer with each passing hour. Now, The Sun already claim to know the 21-year-old’s Manchester United shirt number.
Apparently, Wan-Bissaka has chosen to stick with what he knows by taking the #29, which was what he wore during his time at Crystal Palace.
The Sun’s report claims that it was ‘thought’ he’d either take the #2 off Victor Lindelof, or perhaps even the #5 which is vacant at the moment. However, Wan-Bissaka will keep the number which he earned success aplenty with at Palace.

I’m just so excited about this transfer. Personally, I wish he would have taken the traditional right-back #2 but it’s unclear as to whether Lindelof would have been willing to give that up.
Wan-Bissaka is a player with massive potential. He could well be our first-choice right-back for the next decade if all goes well, and it gives ole Gunnar Solskjaer one less problem to worry about.
I just cannot wait to see him in action. Unfortunately, it seems as though he won’t be joining up with his new teammates next Monday as he’ll likely need a rest following his partaking in the European Championships. Hopefully, though, it’s not too long before he jets out to Australia.
