Adnan Januzaj named as best young player in Europe

Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj has been named the best youngster in European football, by Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport. The 19-year old Belgian beat off competition in the form of Paris Saint-Germain’s centre-back Marqinhos and Chelsea’s winger Lucas Piazon.

Also on the list was Barcelona starlet Gerard Deulofeu placed in fourth, Raheem Sterling finished fifth and Luke Shaw, who has recently been linked with a move to Manchester United finished in sixth.

Adnan Januzaj has been a revelation for United this season. It feels like its been a while since we’ve promoted a youngster from inside our ranks, and Januzaj’s emergence this season has certainly been worth the wait.

On his first Premier League start he turned the game on its head away at Sunderland to give United a 2-1 win, scoring a sublime volley in the process.

Since then, David Moyes has astutely taken the starlet out of the team to give him a break. Not many players of his age play week-in week-out for a team like Manchester United, so its best to keep his head firmly on the ground.

Congratulations Adnan!
