Adnan Januzaj wins Manchester United Player of the Month

Adnan Januzaj has been named Manchester United’s Player of the Month for January, the day before his 19th birthday. The Belgian-born superstar gained a whopping 75% of the vote for the award, and although he was a clear favourite, January won’t be a month that is fondly remembered by Manchester United fans.

Moyes’ men slumped to five defeats out of seven games for the month, with two home league wins coming against the two Welsh sides – Cardiff and Swansea. Januzaj was the standout performer in many defeats though, including the 3-1 defeat away at Chelsea.

Upon receiving his award, Adnan said:

“I would like to thank all of the fans, my team-mates and the coaches. I am very happy with this trophy and I hope it is not the last one. I hope there will be a lot more to come.”

When asked if he has heard the chant that United fans sing in his name, Adnan said: “Of course. I like it when they sing because it gives me a bit of motivation as well. I am very happy with it.”

Hopefully Januzaj will now push on and continue to grow as a player. Alongside Mata, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie, he could be a part of the best front four in the Premier League.
