Adrien Rabiot is edging towards a transfer to Man United this summer.

Manchester United have signed a centre-back and centre-forward. Attention now turns to addressing the midfield issues within the squad.

Credit to Erik ten Hag and Sir Jim Ratcliffe for identifying their targets and getting deals done. More have to follow if the Old Trafford side want to be competitive this coming season.

Several midfielders have been linked with a Reds switch. More recently, Manuel Ugarte appears to be the frontrunner.

However, Romain Collet-Gaudin has provided an update on a potential move to sign Adrien Rabiot. According to his information, the player is ‘getting closer’ to joining United during this window.

Rabiot would be a free agent signing, which could mean a hefty wage could be headed his way.

It’s said that the Frenchman’s entourage is in discussions with two clubs, United and Liverpool, but he prefers the Reds over the Merseyside club.

Check out Romain Collet-Gaudin’s X post on the news here:

Rabiot has been linked with United pretty significantly ever since he arrived at Juventus. Now, he’s definitely leaving Turin and it feels like Ten Hag is ready to push hard to sign the Frenchman.

He’s a pretty solid midfield option to have, though I do feel like he cares more about the money than actually going out on the field and playing football. Should United really target a player like that?

I’d personally prefer Ugarte as the Reds need a defensive-minded midfielder more than they need a true box-to-box option, but let’s wait and see what happens.
