Adrien Rabiot is looking unlikely to make the move to Man United this summer, with a transfer deemed too costly.
The summer transfer window is now officially shut and it’s fair to say that Manchester United’s squad is now in a better place than it was a few months ago.
Recently, talks of one final signing have been increasing in frequency, with a potential move to bring in Adrien Rabiot as a free agent being talked up.
The Frenchman has been linked with United each and every window under Erik ten Hag, though no move has come to fruition.
Apparently, Rabiot will not be joining United anytime soon, with Football Insider providing a vital update on that front.
According to their information, a United move to sign the free agent midfielder is unlikely, as the 29-year-old’s demands are deemed ‘too costly’ for the Red Devils.
United are said to find a move to acquire Rabiot as ‘expensive’ after the midfielder left Juventus this summer.
Talks are ongoing between the parties, though at this stage, it seems like they’re far apart in terms of weekly wage valuation.
Rabiot’s agents are working hard to find a new club for the well-decorated midfielder, who made 35 appearances across all competitions for Juve last term.
There can be no doubt that a fully motivated Rabiot would add an awful lot of quality to this squad. However, I doubt that the player is interested in playing to a high standard week-in-week-out. It feels like he’s determined to go to the highest bidder, be that United, a club in Saudi Arabia or even Turkey.
Honestly, United should probably steer clear here, particularly as INEOS are looking to continue to tighten the belt.
