The agent of Donny van de Beek, Sjaak Swart, has spoken out at his client’s lack of playing time. It’s fair to say he isn’t happy…
After confirming the signing of Donny van de Beek a little under a month ago, Manchester United have remained stagnant in the transfer market.
Further work is needed at Old Trafford if the Red Devils genuinely want to compete this season. However, the club are seemingly already having an issue with Van de Beek despite his recent arrival.
The problem isn’t coming from the player himself, rather his agent, Sjaak Swart. He’s fuming with United already, with his client’s lack of playing time…
Swart was disappointed at the fact that against Brighton, Van de Beek was only given four minutes to play, admitting that he didn’t like it ‘at all’.
Check out what Swart had to say here:
“A substitute, I don’t like it at all. I couldn’t do it myself, standing in with four minutes to play. Then you’d better let me sit down.” Swart told Voetbal Primeur.
Honestly, what’s the point? Van de Beek has been here five minutes and his agent is already mouthing off?
As is normality these days, players are given time to settle and get used to their new surroundings. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is trying to ease the Dutchman in. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Van de Beek did start in the cup game against Luton Town last midweek and I assume he’ll play against Brighton from the get-go tonight. If he impresses again, as he did this time last week, he’ll definitely come into Solskjaer’s thinking for the game at the weekend.
It’s just a distraction that nobody needs right now. Why not just let his client concentrate on forcing his way into the first-team. Heck, at least wait a month or two before spouting this rubbish in the media…
