Alejandro Garnacho has admitted that he does studying on his opposing full-backs in order to be best prepared for success.
At the highest level, you do not get to the top without being ready for any situation. Those early starts on the training ground, day-in-day-out, is exactly what’s required.
Skill can only get you so far – though it does help if you have it. Alejandro Garnacho is the current man of the moment following a couple of important goals for Manchester United.
He’s incredibly gifted. The work he puts in on the training pitch is now paying off. It’s easy to forget he’s only eighteen years of age. He’s only going to get better.
To further add to that, the United starlet has also admitted he puts in the work in the film room too, claiming he ‘always’ studies opposing full-backs so he’s best prepared to make a positive impact when called upon.
Check out what Alejandro Garncaho said on thorough preparation:
“[You have to be ready] to go on and give everything,” he told ManUtd.com.
“At home I always study the full-backs and during the game itself; during the time I’m sitting on the bench.
“So I can then go on and know where and how I need to be looking to go past them. “I analyse games and also opponents when I’m about to come up against them, so that I’ve got some background on each player to be ready for the game.”
It just further leads me to believe how badly Garnacho wants this. He’s putting in the effort after question marks about his attitude earlier on in the campaign – and that’s all you can ask for.
With the World Cup now in full flow, Garnacho has a month to continue to put in the work on the training field and become even more well-rounded as a footballer. Again, that’s despite him being so tender in age.
He’ll get the opportunity to learn from Erik ten Hag for the next month, before looking to further assert himself as a regular within that United line-up.
