Alejandro Garnacho has agreed to a new contract at Man United.
It has felt like Manchester United have been in contract talks with Alejandro Garnacho for a fair while now, with the Red Devils seemingly desperate to protect their asset.
The young Argentine has gone from strength-to-strength since that FA Youth Cup final back in May. Earning full international call-ups, making his full United debut and winning a trophy all must’ve been proud moments.
He’s now a regular within the United setup, earning roughly £5,000-a-week.
Understandably, United are trying to up that, in an effort to keep the young man content with what he’s earning here in Manchester.
Well, the latest information from journalist Jacque Talbot is certainly positive news. Yesterday, he tweeted that the starlet has agreed terms on a new contract.
Apparently, the new deal is worth £30,000-a-week, which can rise significantly due to performance-related stuff – presumably like goals, assists, appearances, trophy wins etc.
What’s great from a United standpoint is that deal will run until 2029. In all likelihood, it’ll never get that far as this is a club that always like to reward their players early for their on-field displays.
Either way, getting this deal done just gives United one less problem to worry about going into a crucial part of their season. Garnacho can now solely focus on his football, at least for the next couple of years, by which point, he’ll still be barely out of his teens.
I genuinely believe that working with Ten Hag, in a couple of seasons, we could be looking at one of the best young players in football. It’s a testament to his attitude, hard work and dedication.
