Alejandro Garnacho won it late for Manchester United last night, with the Argentine named the Player of the Match after.
Manchester United were certainly not at their best against West Ham United in the FA Cup last night, though Erik ten Hag’s men found a way to win the game.
Changes were made by the boss before kick-off, though it was once again the substitutes who helped swing the pendulum back in United’s favour. The introduction of both Casemiro and Marcus Rashford gave United more control – and more threat.
Alejandro Garnacho was the big benefactor. After a wasteful half, the Argentine seemed to play far better in the second 45, consistently looking threatening down his side.
He was the catalyst for the heavy United pressure when the lads went 1-0 down. It was his peach of a goal that meant the Red Devils were going to progress into the cup quarter-final. You absolutely love to see it.
It came as no surprise to learn that Garnacho was named the Player of the Match for his efforts, with the Argentine all-smiles with his trophy on the Old Trafford pitch after full-time.

Garnacho is just a special footballer with the world at his feet. It’s easy to forget that he’s still only eighteen years of age, with it feeling like he’s been in and around the squad for ages already.
What a year he’s had. From scoring twice in the FA Youth Cup final in front of the Stretford End, to scoring a late winner in the FA Cup proper, with a full international call-up in between.
The scary thing is that Garnacho is only going to get better from here. With Ten Hag’s guidance and tutelage, plus the security of a new contract, we could have a real world-class player on our hands.
