Alejandro Garnacho will not play for Argentina over the upcoming international break due to a knee injury.

Manchester United Football Club have limped into the most recent international break in terms of results and player health…

The pressure continues to build on Erik ten Hag, with the hierarchy now left with a big decision to make about his future. The Dutchman is not being helped by injury issues on the field, either.

Over the weekend, both Harry Maguire and Noussair Mazraoui came off with problems and since then, another player has been struck down with injury; Alejandro Garnacho.

The Argentine has dipped in and out of the team recently and that could now be explained by the fact he has been dealing with an issue.

The United star has since confirmed ‘knee problems’ have plagued his performances over the last couple of games. As a result, he’s also withdrawn from international duty.

Here’s what Garnacho had to say in full here:

“I had knee problems in the last two matches, and I won’t be able to be with the national team. I hope to recover soon so I can be on the next date”. Garnacho is quoted as saying by Fabrizio Romano.

The good news is that Garna is no longer jetting halfway across the world to play for his country. The bad news, obviously, is that he’s not at 100% fitness.

He now has a fortnight to rest up and look to get himself fit for the Brentford game on October 19th, which is now eleven days away…

It feels like this is more precationary than a serious, long-term injury issue, though it’s far from ideal, particularly when we’re now staring down the barrel of the hectic winter schedule.

Both Noussair Mazraoui and Kobbie Mainoo have also withdrawn from international duty due to injuries.
