Alex Telles & Hannibal Mejbri involved in ‘heated altercation’ in Man United training

Alex Telles and Hannibal Mejbri were involved in a training ground fight earlier this month.

Manchester United Football Club have hit rock bottom. Ralf Rangnick’s squad all-but gave up on this season months ago. It was depressing to see so little fight from the lads who took to the field on a weekly basis.

There has always been talk of cliques within the dressing room. At the highest level where the talent level is so minimal, it’s about bonding with your teammates and forming that bond – both on and off the pitch.

It’s pretty evident that hasn’t ben happening at the Theatre of Dreams, contributing to us falling even further behind.

It’s no surprise then, to read that a first-team duo have reportedly been involved in a ‘heated altercation’ during a training session earlier this month.

The Daily Mail have revealed the identities of the players involved, with Alex Telles and Hannibal Mejbri named as the lads who got into a scuffle…

Given Hannibal’s youthful exuberance and fiery cameo against Liverpool, it’s easy to see why the Frenchman is involved. Perhaps he said something a senior player didn’t like. Or maybe he snapped back at the Brazilian after a dodgy tackle in training. Who knows?

Either way, Telles and Hannibal having a fight in training is a pretty big deal. Simply put, this should not be happening at any level, but tensions will no doubt be running high after this disastrous campaign.

I guess the one positive we can take from this is that these players do care. They’re both on the right side when it comes to desperately wanting to turn things around – and perhaps under Erik ten Hag, both will have big parts to play in doing exactly that.

Do you think player power will be a problem for Erik ten Hag at Man United? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.

  1. Players who do not respect this club and are involved squabbling over their personal indifferences, should leave the club. They are a bad influence for the club.
Secondly, the captain must be someone who is very matured and who can be good enough to hold his team together especially when it is in the dressing room nor matter what is behind the scenes as it still shows it all in their games. He should be capable of being strong enough to discipline his players besides the coach. Someone with more authority and who is a good leader.
