Alex Telles has this morning returned to Manchester United’s AON Training Complex after a positive coronavirus test last week.
The Brazilian, who was signed from FC Porto over the summer, made a brilliant impression on debut against Paris Saint-Germain.
However, he was nowhere to be seen in the two matches following our brilliant victory in the French capital. On Wednesday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would confirm Alex Telles had tested positive for coronavirus.
We’re unsure as to when exactly the positive test came in, so we’re still somewhat in the dark in regards to when Telles will be available again. Obviously, he’s been in self-isolation so he’ll likely have to get a few training sessions under his belt before he’s even considered for selection.
Good news today comes from the Manchester Evening News. Their eagle-eyed reporters snapped Telles returning to United’s training ground this morning, following that positive test last week.

The good news is that United seemingly caught wind of Telles’ coronavirus infection before it spread to the rest of the squad. However, I’d be surprised if we see him in our next two games before the international break.
In the long-term, though, Telles’ impact will certainly be felt. He’s someone who can compete, and hopefully beat out Luke Shaw in the left-back competition.
Telles has shown his brilliant delivery into the box, he’s shown his willingness to work while also proving his defensive awareness. Yes, it may take some time to get fully back up to speed. However, we have a real gem of a player on our hands.
It’s fair to say he doesn’t look a million dollars in that photo above, with coronavirus seemingly taking it’s toll. In the end, though, United will give him the time to rest up and get back fighting fit before throwing him back into the fire. It is nice to see him back at Carrington, though!
