Manchester United fans were hoping for a major clear out over the summer. Some players have left but there’s still much work to be done.
Well, don’t rule out more sales before the summer, as the European transfer window doesn’t actually close until September 2nd. Amongst the players who could possibly depart is Alexis Sanchez…
Well, according to the usually reliable Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan are in talks to sign the struggling Chilean. The deal would be a loan with an option to buy for €15m (£13.6m), with the Old Trafford outfit covering part of the wage.
Furthermore, Sanchez has asked to leave the club, with the decision now resting with United.
I guess it depends on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans for the season. Does the Baby Faced Assassin want to put his trust in youth? Or does he still believe Sanchez is good enough to make an impact at United?
For me, it just hasn’t worked out for him here and you get the feeling that it’d be in the best interests of everyone to just let him leave.
This doesn’t mean Sanchez is a bad player, he’s obviously a talented bloke who just looks completely low on confidence. Perhaps he needs to move somewhere who can guarantee him playing time on a regular basis.
Credit to Inter, by the way, they’ve already taken one of our cast-offs and they want a second? The peoples club!
