It seems as though Manchester United’s new boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has been handed an early Christmas present with the return of a key man back to training.
According to Sky Sports News, Alexis Sanchez has returned to United’s training base following rehab back in Chile. The attacker updated his Instagram story with the news, as he looks to work his way back into action as we head into 2019.
Sanchez’s first twelve months at Old Trafford have been nothing short of disastrous. However, that doesn’t take away from his simply immense talent and ability.
At Arsenal, he showed that he is capable of going toe-to-toe with the best in the business when it comes to goalscoring, and if he begin to rediscover that form, it will feel like a new signing for Solskjaer and company.
Now, it’s about not rushing him back into action too quickly after so long out. Allow Sanchez to return to fitness at his own speed and pace, and in the long-term, it could have massive benefits for United.
For the short-term, Soslkjaer will have to rely heavily on the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, particularly with Romelu Lukaku also missing the next two games.
Welcome back, Alexis!
