Altay Bayindir has been ruled out of the Liverpool game this weekend after suffering a fresh injury.

Manchester United play arguably their most important game of the season this weekend, with the Red Devils hosting Liverpool in an FA Cup quarter-final. This is undoubtedly Erik ten Hag’s last chance at winning major silverware this season, though the tests do not come much tougher than our North West rivals…

Jurgen Klopp’s men won in emphatic fashion on Thursday night in the Europa League against Sparta Prague, eventually running out 6-2 winners. They head into this game in form, while they’re getting players back from injury.

The Red Devils, on the other hand, cannot catch a break on that front. The squad seem to be dropping like flies at this moment in time, which is obviously far from ideal at a crucial stage in the season.

Today, the club confirmed another injury blow ahead of the FA Cup game against Liverpool, with Altay Bayindir set to be sielined for around two weeks with a fresh problem.

The Turk, who made his debut against Newport County in the FA Cup not too long ago, has played second fiddle to Andre Onana for pretty much the whole season.

We’re really yet to see what Bayindir is made of, though he acquitted himself well in that cup game against League Two opposition. All indications coming out of training seem to suggest that the ex-Fenerbahce man is working hard and impressing. However, Onana has been an ever-present, aside from when he jetted over for AFCON in January.

If you believe recent reports, Bayindir isn’t best pleased with his situation at the Theatre of Dreams, with the keeper said to be considering his position at United. A move to Fenerbahce’s fierce rivals, Galatasaray, has also been talked up.

I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if he left at the end of this season.
