Amad Diallo is bossing it in the Championship right now, with the Ivory Coast feeling like someone who could have the impact of a new signing.
Manchester United Football Club have some immense talents on their books right now. From Alejandro Garnacho, to the ever-improving Kobbie Mainoo, this club is stacked with quality.
You also have to consider those players who are away from United on loan right now. Ethan Laird, Alvaro Fernandez and Amad are all playing super well in the Championship.
The latter, in particular, is making a real name for himself. After a fairly pedestrian start to life at Sunderland, Amad has burst into life over the last few months. He has transformed into a real goalscoring outlet for the Black Cats, while the young man’s pace, creativity and skill has been on full display.
Amad lit it up again yesterday, scoring a wonderful goal during another excellent Sunderland victory. No doubt Erik ten Hag is paying close attention…
In our opinion, the 20-year-old United starlet could feel like a new signing for the Old Trafford club in the 2023/24 season. That’s just how impressive he has been.
Sunderland manager, Tony Mowbray, has constantly waxed lyrical about Amad, who was recently named their Player of the Month for December due to his sheer brilliance.
He’s just been a joy to watch play, having come so far from those early days at United and that pretty dreadful loan to Rangers.
Sunderland fans love Amad. They firmly believe he’s one of the best players they’ve had at their club in years. That alone tells you about the positive impact he’s had up North. They find themselves in a promotion dogfight, which can only be good for the player, who’ll be learning loads from this experience.
From a United standpoint, there’s a real chance for Amad. You watch the Arsenal game yesterday and the lack of depth in the attacking areas was there for all to see. If it’s true about the lack of funds being available going into the summer, then Amad could be thrust into a real position for first-team minutes.
It all starts with pre-season. The young man has to come back to Old Trafford hungry, desperate to impress the manager. If he does that and enjoys a good tour, there’s a very real possibility that Amad will be in the thick of it.
This is why the loan system is so good. Amad would have been playing U23 football here in Manchester. Instead, he’s bossing the Championship on a weekly basis, learning under a great manager and playing for a historic club.
I’m firmly of the opinion that Amad Diallo could be like a new signing next term. It’s up to the young man to take that chance with both hands.
