Amad Diallo is apparently due in Manchester today, as his move to United draws ever closer…
Back on transfer deadline day in October, Manchester United agreed a deal to sign Amad Diallo from Atalanta. However, the move wouldn’t go through in time.
Now, the transfer is expected to be finalised at some point this month. Well, that day could be closer than we think…
The story comes from TuttoMercatoWeb, translated via Sport Witness. Apparently, the 18-year-old ‘left for Manchester this morning’ in order to begin his Manchester United ‘adventure’ today.
Furthermore, Atalanta themselves are still trying to take Diallo on some sort of loan deal, with TMW reporting that everything will become clearer over the ‘next few hours’.
At this stage, it looks to us like Diallo will be staying at Manchester United – provided there are no issues with his work permit of course.
What will Amad Diallo offer Manchester United?
Well, he’s young, hungry and supremely talented. The good news for our new Ivorian is that right-wing (his position) isn’t blessed with loads of depth or quality at the moment. That could well present Diallo with a major opportunity to prove his worth this season.
We’re talking about a player who brings excitement to the table. This guy is jam-packed with quality and I cannot wait to see him in action. His Champions League debut earlier on in the season definitely gave us cause to be happy about this signing, with fans expressing their delight all over social media later that night.
I guess we’re going to have to be patient though. Like with Facundo Pellistri, you’d expect Diallo will be eased into proceedings here in Manchester. I would like to see him given his debut at some point this term, though…
