Amad Diallo loan move collapses due to injury: report

Amad Diallo looks set to stay at Man United beyond this summer transfer window.

Manchester United Football Club have made some massive signings this summer. Naturally, those big additions limit the first-team minutes for some of the fringe players even further.

Amongst those right now is Amad Diallo. Not too long ago, it was deemed only a ‘matter of hours’ before the Ivorian sealed a loan move to Feyenoord. We covered those claims here.

However, that move has now ‘definitely collapsed’, according to Fabrizio Romano. Apparently, the United starlet suffered an injury in the latest United training session, now, Amad is set to stay with the Reds beyond tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

The teenager has suffered a muscular problem and the fact that he’ll now no longer be able to pass a medical with Feyenoord means he’ll be staying put until at least January…

Obviously, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s impending arrival, this isn’t ideal for Amad who just wants to be playing football matches.

He’s behind Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho, Daniel James, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford and probably Anthony Elanga in the pecking order. Factor in Edinson Cavani, Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Martial and I struggle to see how Amad starts games at this juncture.

Now, it’s about getting back fit as quickly as possible. We’re not too sure on the severity of the issue just yet and we don’t know how long he’s going to be sidelined. Hopefully, it’s not too long before he’s back in action because he’s a supremely talented individual.

Sadly, I think he’s too good for U23 football but that’s likely where he’ll be getting his minutes from over the next six months. Hopefully, we can re-visit this Feyenoord loan deal in January – assuming they still need help out wide in the mid-season window.
