Amad Diallo has been working hard since his move to Manchester United, now we’ve seen his first goal in a training session.
Whenever you’re signed by the Old Trafford club, it comes with immense pressure. This is what happens when you play for the biggest club in English football.
As a youngster, it’s even harder. You’re not used to being constantly under the spotlight and for Amad Diallo, let’s not forget he’s moved to a new country entirely. He has to learn a new culture, a new language and a new way of life. All on top of trying to improve as a footballer.
The pressure is already on Diallo, though it’s down to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to ensure his development isn’t rushed. I don’t doubt we’ll see him play for the senior side at some point this season. For now, though, I’m happy to just see little snippets of him in action during training.
Today, we were given another glimpse of our new Ivorian in action, as he scored a lovely goal in the session, past Dean Henderson. Cheers to the official club Twitter account for the video.

Alright, so it’s a lovely-taken goal which Diallo tucked into the bottom corner beautifully. But can he do it under pressure in a big game? Can he beat the best goalkeepers in the business when the lights are at their brightest?
This is all information we’ll learn over time. It is easy to focus straight on the hefty transfer fee and ignore the simple fact that Diallo is young and still learning his trade. We need to give him time, be patient and allow him to develop at his own pace.
I, for one, can’t wait to see him play – even if we’re kept twiddling our thumbs until next season!
