Amad Diallo will fly to Manchester in January to complete Reds move: report

Amad Diallo will finally become a Manchester United player when January rolls around.

Back on transfer deadline day, Manchester United would quietly go about their business, sealing a deal for Amad Diallo Traore. However, the young forward wouldn’t get a work permit in time – meaning he’d stay with Atalanta.

Since then, United fans expressed their excitement at Amad Diallo, who’d impress on his Champions League debut against FC Midtjylland a couple of weeks ago.

Well, it’s time to get even more upbeat, with Amad Diallo edging closer to heading to the Theatre of Dreams – as he looks to take that next step in his career.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the youngster has ‘finally’ received his passport. Now, the 18-year-old is set to fly to Manchester in January, to finalise his £36m (€40m) transfer to United.

The deadlines to get his passport done in time have been met, meaning Amad Diallo is free to link up with his new teammates when the January transfer window opens.

Check out Fabrizio Romano’s tweet with all the details in here:

At this point, we don’t have a firm date in regards to when Amad Diallo will arrive. However, you’d think that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be looking to have him integrated in Manchester as soon as possible.

There’s also no clarity as to where Amad Diallo will slot in. He’s probably talented enough to join up with the first-team from day one. While a lack of depth in that right-wing slot certainly gives him an advantage. I also look at his transfer fee as someone who’ll play senior football sooner rather than later.

I would imagine that Amad Diallo will be given at least a few weeks to settle into his new surroundings before being thrown in at the deep end. I’d also like to think he will make a senior debut at some point this term – which is obviously exciting!
