Amad Diallo’s ‘unbelievable’ talent hailed by Neil Wood

The praise has rightly been heaped on Amad Diallo after an excellent display for Man United’s U23s vs Leeds…

Although Manchester United’s first-team were well-beaten at the weekend, our U23s fared a little better. Neil Wood’s side were going toe-to-toe with fierce rivals Leeds United.

The game itself was a close, combative affair between two club’s that just don’t like each other very much. It looked to be ending in a stalemate, until Amad Diallo popped up with a sublime winner.

Our Ivorian, who has been on the fringes of the first-team, needs minutes under his belt before an inevitable loan move away in January. Amad stepped up when we needed him most with an excellent solo goal.

After the game, U23s gaffer Wood was full of praise for the 19-year-old starlet, who has been hailed as an ‘unbelievable’ talent by the manager.

Check out what Wood had to say in full here:

“He’s an intelligent player, very comfortable with the ball at his feet and he also works for the group.” Wood told ManUtd.com.

“He comes down here, works and helps the team. He was brilliant. The little glimpses of excellence that he shows are unbelievable.”

Amad has massive potential. No doubt he can make an impact within the United first-team at some point in the not too distant future, too.

Right now, though, the United squad is jam-packed in the wide areas and up top. Amad may well find it tough to break into that squad at this point in time – hence why I said a loan move feels inevitable when January rolls around.

Don’t forget Amad was due to head back to Atalanta for the season on transfer deadline day. But a late injury scuppered those plans. He’s a kid with a tough mindset, though, and Amad will bounce back in the second half of the campaign.
