Amad happy to stay at Man United amid loan interest, club want him around

Amad is happy to remain at Man United this January, amid loan interest and links suggesting he could move away.

Manchester United Football Club have sanctioned many loan moves away this January, as Erik ten Hag thins out the herd due to fewer games being available in the second half of the season.

Several attackers have gone out. Facundo Pellistri appears to be the latest who’ll follow that route for first-team football.

However, one man who seemingly will not be going anywhere is Amad. The Ivory Coast international was snubbed for minutes against Newport County on Sunday, though he will be kept in Manchester for the rest of the season, amid loan links.

It’s Fabrizio Romano who confirms that United want the winger to be a part of the squad for the second half 2024 term, with the player said to be ‘happy’ to stay at the club.

Romano adds that Amad has not asked to leave the club, while Ten Hag has been ‘clear’ with the player on what his role will be, both for the present and the future.

In terms of quality, I give Amad a better chance at making the grade over the aforementioned Pellistri, so I’m glad that Ten Hag has gone this way rather than the other.

Amad looked pretty sharp in pre-season before picking up injury, while Antony is hardly setting the world alight at this moment in time.

The ex-Atalanta man did cost United a pretty penny and we’re yet to see any fruits of those labours. Perhaps this is Amad’s time to shine, with the squad looking so thin in that right-wing spot.
