Amad has asked Man United if he can head back to Sunderland on loan for the remainder of the season.

Manchester United have sanctioned loan moves for players galore this month, as the Red Devils continue to trim down their squad due to fewer games being played.

Erik ten Hag has some big decisions to make. It looks as though he’s ready to wave goodbye to Facundo Pellistri, albeit on loan. While Amad is another who could possibly be leaving on a short-term deal.

According to Football Insider’s latest information, a departure is exactly what Amad wants.

They’re claiming that the United youngster has ‘directly asked’ the club to let him leave on loan this month, as he looks to reunite with Sunderland.

The Black cats are keen on bringing the winger back up to the North East, though a deal is currently being helped up as the Reds want Sunderland to cover most of his wages during the loan stint.

Amad himself has approached senior figures at United in an effort to push a deal through today, before the January window slams shut.

The winger looked good for Sunderland last season, performing like a star player in the Championship. However, he’s spent a large portion of this season injured, then he remained firmly rooted to the bench against Newport County in the FA Cup. It’s no surprise he wants out.

It’s just not a good look for the club. They’ve spent big money on Amad, who seemingly isn’t good enough to cut it at this level – at least in Ten Hag’s view anyway, and his is the only view that matters.
