Man United fans could be about to see more of Amad, after the player holds positive talks with Erik ten Hag about his future involvement.
The January transfer window is now over, with the squad looking considerably thinner than it did a few weeks ago. Several players have left, mostly on loan, in an effort to earn first-team minutes away from Manchester United.
One man who felt close to going down that route was Amad. The young Ivory Coast international apparently wanted a move back to Championship side Sunderland – though that never came to fruition.
Well now, Fabrizio Romano has shed some more light on that situation. It’s good news for fans of the young attacker.
According to the Italian journalist, the United starlet has held ‘positive conversation’ with Ten Hag, as it was ‘crucial’ to prepare for the attacker’s future involvement in the United first-team squad.
Romano adds that the club and the manager both want to ‘trust’ Amad, hence, a loan move away was never an option for the ex-Atalanta man.

There’s no doubting Amad’s talent and ability, though he is at that stage in his career where he has to be playing regular football.
If not now at United, when? It does seem like Ten Hag is now ready to place some more faith in Amad, which is obviously a massive positive. However, I still have some doubts. Amad wasn’t given any minutes against Newport County, while Alejandro Garnacho is in excellent form right now. You also have Antony standing in the way…
That said, if both Amad and Ten Hag were happy with the discussion, let’s hope it does lead to some first-team minutes for the winger between now and the end of the season.
