Young winger, Amad Diallo, has named the most difficult player to come up against in Man United training.
Manchester United Football Club have several players on the fringes of breaking through into the first-team at the moment, largely due to mass injuries decimating the squad.
The Red Devils haven’t shied away from placing their trust in youth, which is a testament to Erik ten Hag’s character. He hasn’t moaned nor cried about the injury situation. Rather, he has just cracked on with it and continued with the job at hand.
Many fans feel like it’s Amad who is next in line. After all, Antony is struggling on that right-hand side, while Alejandro Garnacho is superior off the left-wing The Ivory Coast international has been patiently waiting for an opportunity that is yet to come.
However, he has been injured to start this season and it was always going to take him time to get fully up to speed.
In a recent club Q&A, Amad was asked a variety of questions, including who is the most difficult player to go against in training. The winger’s answer won’t come as a surprise to many; Lisandro Martinez.
Check out what Amad had to say in full here:
“Licha [is the most difficult player to face in training],” Amad told the official club website.
“He’s very strong in the training. For him, the training is like the Champions League final.
“He never trains easy, he goes stronger, so it’s harder to train against him.”
I know Licha is currently injured, but there’s no doubt he’s the tempo-setter for the whole club. His work ethic, desire and passion rubs off on the rest of the squad. Without him, United aren’t anywhere close to the same team.
As Amad says, the Argentine centre-half is someone who treats every single session like a massively important game. Having that attitude is what breeds a winning mentality within any dressing room. I’d like to think the rest of the squad will follow suit.
For the winger himself, it’s now about taking that next step and earning himself regular starts at United. He may not get a better chance than he has right now. Amad simply has to make it count.
