Andre Silva has ‘around interest’ of Man United: report

Man United are potentially looking at a move for Andre Silva, as they weigh up their striking options for the 2021/22 campaign.

As we all know, Manchester United may well have to make their move for a striker this coming summer. Edinson Cavani’s future remains up in the air – and I’ll be honest, it makes me sad that he never got to experience a game with a jam-packed Old Trafford.

If El Matador does decide to leave, his output will need replacing; enter, Andre Silva.

According to BILD, translated by Sport Witness, the 23-goal star has ‘aroused interest’ from Manchester United, amongst others.

Eintracht Frankfurt are looking to achieve a fee of at least £35m (€40m), to let their star Portuguese striker leave this summer. No doubt they’ll be looking for some sort of bidding war in order to drive the price up.

What’s interesting to us is that BILD state a transfer is ‘very likely’ this summer, while Atletico Madrid are the other side credited with a serious interest in the 25-year-old.

Silva is second only to Robert Lewandowski in the Bundesliga goalscoring charts, which should tell you everything you need to know about his talents as a striker. Tack on the seven assists and you have someone who has registered 30 goal contributions this term. Bear in mind Frankfurt have only played 28 league games – that’s rather remarkable.

At 25, Silva represents someone who can give you at least a half-decade at the highest level. At an extremely reasonable price, for a player who is extremely prolific, this seems like a no-brainer.

I’d hope that if Silva is gettable this summer, United are at the front of the queue.
