The atmosphere at Manchester United has seemed far more positive over the last week or so, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now at the helm and guiding the Red Devils to two wins from two.
One player who was used sparingly under Jose Mourinho, and has already made one appearance under Solskjaer is Andreas Pereira. The young midfielder is out of contract this coming summer, so the January transfer window may be United’s final opportunity to get some sort of transfer fee for the 22-year-old.
That has led to clubs showing an interest in the Belgian-born-Brazilian, with reports from his homeland, namely UOL, claiming that Pereira has received official transfer proposals from Arsenal, West Ham and Everton.
After enjoying a good pre-season, you felt like this season would be the one where Pereira would kick on and really stamp his authority on the starting line-up.
However, that just hasn’t happened. When Pereira has played, he has hardly set the world alight although his talent cannot be denied. You wonder whether the stage is just too big for him, because during his two loan spells in Spain he was excellent.
Maybe a move to a so-called lesser Premier League side would work wonders for his overall career development, and it may well time for United to cash in.
