Andreas Pereira signs new four-year Man United contract

Manchester united have had a busy week! Aaron Wan-Bissaka arrived six days ago, then on Monday, Marcus Rashford put pen to paper on a new deal.

Today, the Red Devils have confirmed that Andreas Pereira has also signed a new contract.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has signed a four-year deal with the option for an extra year, which could keep him at Old Trafford until 2024 – all being well…

Having moved to United in 2011, Manchester has been Pereira’s home. After back-to-back loan spells in 2016/17 and 2017/18, the talented Brazilian broke into the first team and was given opportunities by both Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Today is a proud day for the whole Pereira family, and as you can see from the photo below, he was all-smiles alongside Solskjaer after confirming his long-term United future.

It’s a big year for Pereira. He doesn’t want to be just a squad player. This is a guy who wants to be a week-in-week-out starter in the Premier League – and it’s about estbalishing himself over the next twelve months.

Thankfully for the Brazilian United are looking light in terms of numbers in his position right now, so if he has a good tour, don’t be surprised to see him starting at home to Chelsea in our Premier League opener next month.

Congratulations, Andreas!
