Manchester United Football Club put in a much-improved performance over the weekend, holding league-leaders Liverpool to a 1-1 draw.
The Red Devils’ display was a sign of encouragement for the fans, though they now have to kick on from here and build some momentum. Anyway, amid all the madness, on Sunday, there was some positive contractual news in regards to Angel Gomes.
According to the usually reliable Fabrizio Romano, the talented 19-year-old Gomes is close to extending his contract with United. Currently, the attacking midfielder has just nine months left on his deal – meaning he’ll be free to talk to overseas clubs as early as January…
Romano adds that we’ll learn more in the ‘next days’ in regards to Gomes.
United are definitely doing their utmost to tie players down to new deals. Brandon Williams was first and Mason Greenwood quickly followed suit. Now attentions have focused on Gomes, who is probably the most important player to get signed up due to his winding down deal.
Gomes is a talented young man who was exceptional on pre-season tour. Sure, his start to the season hasn’t been as dazzling as we’d all have hoped, but in time you’d expect he’ll show his best.
