Louis van Gaal is clearly keen to push Manchester United’s transfer business through as early as possible, giving his new players more time to bed into the side before the Premier League season kicks off in mid-August.
The latest player linked with the club is Nico Gaitan, and according to the Portuguese media outlet A Bola, a transfer for Gaitan to Manchester United is already 80-90% complete, and an announcement about the 27-year old’s future is expected after Benfica’s final game of the season on Friday.
Gaitan has been linked with United a few times over the past few years, and A Bola themselves have been culprits of reporting this transfer being completed a few times, so for now take this one with a pinch of salt until something concrete comes out from either club.
My concern with this deal is that we already have a lot of similar players to Gaitan, so unless Van Gaal plans moving a few of these players on then this deal seems a bit pointless.
