Anthony Elanga signs new long-term Man Utd contract

Anthony Elanga has put pen to paper on new terms at Man Utd.

First Shola Shoretire, then Hannibal Mejbri. Now, it’s Anthony Elanga’s turn.

Manchester United are certainly being kept busy behind the scenes, doing all they can to tie the future stars of tomorrow down to new contracts.

The Red Devils confirmed that the top United talent had signed to a new, long-term contract, with his future now secure.

At this point in time, Elanga is still on the road to recovery from injury, but let’s not forget just how special of a player this young man is. Just last season, he’d win United’s Jimmy Murphy Youth Team Player of the Year award.

This term, Elanga has been given the chance at U23 level, scoring eight times and tacking on three assists in just sixteen appearances before picking up his injury. That alone should tell you about how natural ability.

Now, the Swede can focus on getting himself back fully fit, before continuing to deliver for Neil Wood’s side from now until the end of the season.

Then, United have a decision to make. You’d like to think that if there is a pre-season this year, Elanga would undoubtedly be involved. Following that, I’d imagine they’ll be talks of either keeping him around and gradually moving the winger into the first-team, or organising a loan move away from Old Trafford.

The good news is that with this deal now done and dusted, Elanga can concentrate solely on playing his football, rather than worrying about where his future within the sport lies.

Congratulations on your deal, Anthony!
