Manchester United spent a huge amount of money to bring in then little-known Anthony Martial over the summer, with Louis van Gaal sanctioning £38million for his signature. The Frenchman made instant impact though, scoring an outstanding goal on debut against Liverpool.
Since then Martial has gone from strength-to-strength, and that has led to several clubs showing an interest in the 20-year old forward despite him only just arriving at Old Trafford.
According to the French media outlet L’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain have already contacted Martial’s representatives about the possibility of the forward moving back to his homeland.
The 2016 European Golden Boy winner has scored 17 goals for United in a stunning debut season, and PSG are always interested in the best young French footballers when a player bursts onto the scene. However they’d have to pay a colossal amount of money to even tempt Manchester United into thinking about parting with one of their most prized assets.
I’d take this one with a pinch of salt for now, but if United miss out on Champions League football, Martial’s head could well be swayed…
