Anthony Martial’s 2017/18 campaign didn’t really end as many would’ve hoped. At times, the superstar Frenchman was left as an onlooker, watching as Alexis Sanchez took his place on the left-wing.
In my opinion, it’s no guarantee that Martial, 22, will remain a Red Devil beyond this current season; but that didn’t stop the former AS Monaco man having some fun with a Liverpool fan via social media.

For the non-French speakers amongst us (myself included), basically, the Liverpool fan was walking past Martial with a Liverpool jersey on, and Martial subtly hinted at the bloke – telling him that his top was dirty. Then, Martial’s follow-up tweet is him saying that the lad should consider changing his jersey (along with a winky face).

I hate using the world, but it’s just a great bit of banter. Martial is only having a joke with the fella, and hopefully, he’s taken that in good spirits.
I love the fact that our #11 has taken the rivalry on board and seems to be having fun with it; and that’s exactly what football is about.
Hopefully, he’ll apply that attitude to his on-field work and put in those excellently nonchalant-yet-wonderful performances that we’ve become accustomed to.
