Anthony Martial is carrying another injury, according to the latest information.

Manchester United have coped without their main striker for large portions of the 2022/23 season. Anthony Martial looked nothing short of stunning in pre-season, though his injury problems have led to a heavily disrupted term,

The Frenchman seems to play half-an-hour of football, before picking up another problem that keeps him out for multiple weeks. He’d be involved in midweek for less than 30 minutes after returning from a month-long injury. Now, he’s injured again…

Eyebrows were raised when Martial wasn’t in the matchday squad for the Palace game today. Then, shortly after, journalist Carl Anka had the scoop, confirming that the United star is ‘carrying another injury’.

Check out Carl Anka’s tweet with the news here:

At this stage, the severity of the issue is not yet known, though it’s just massively frustrating. These are the sort of matches where you need Martial’s movement, pressing ability and sheer skill. Sadly, he’s been unavailable for far too long.

There comes a point where Ten Hag will realise he cannot trust his current number nine, being forced into moving on from the ex-AS Monaco man. Availability is reliability. Martial isn’t offering that right now.

It just gives the club one more problem to worry about going into a massive summer window. They’re already on the hunt for a striker and right now, there’s every chance Ten Hag is looking at bringing in a couple of new front men as a result of these injuries.

Hopefully, the problem isn’t too long-term and Marticla can at least string a good run of games together before the end of the campaign – though right now, I am not holding my breath.
