Another week, another Anthony Martial TOTW inclusion. Despite Manchester United dropping points at home to Southampton, the Frenchman continues to impress.
Manchester United Football Club squandered their top-four opportunity last night, though having Champions League football on display at Old Trafford next season is still in their hands.
Sure, it’s tougher, but you have to believe in this squad of players assembled by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Credit where it’s due, Southampton played extremely well at Old Trafford last night. I guess that sometimes, you just have to hold your hands up.
Despite a pretty average Red Devils display on the whole, there was one standout performer; Anthony Martial.
The Frenchman picked up one goal and one assist on the day, leading the line brilliantly-well. For his display, he was included in Garth Crooks’ latest BBC TOTW.

He’s playing with confidence, hunger, passion. Martial’s form mirrors that of his first season in United colours and credit to Solskjaer for that.
The unbelievable hold-up play he displayed for the Marcus Rashford opener was sheer genius, while his first-touch and lay-off in the same move was equally brilliant.
Then you look at his goal. It was another trademark finish into the corner, leaving the keeper with absolutely no chance at keeping it out. What a player we have on our hands.
I’d also like to point out that Rashford could have also been included in this side, though you look at Antonio’s four-goal performance and Raheem Sterling’s quality outing this weekend and sort of see why he didn’t get the nod.
Now, it’s about the rest of the players picking themselves up and dusting themselves off and matching Martial’s level – before getting back into the thick of it on Thursday night against Crystal Palace where three points is a must.
Congratulations, Tony!
