Manchester United well and truly kickstarted their season yesterday, as they overcame a poor Liverpool side 3-1 in a stunning second half of football at Old Trafford. Amongst the goal scorers was United’s latest starlet in the form of Anthony Martial.
The Frenchman came on as a second half substitute as United were winning 2-0, and shortly after a fabulous Christian Benteke overhead kick, Anthony Martial took centre-stage.
Martial, 19, picked the ball up outside the Liverpool area before running at the Liverpool defence. He left one centre-half for dead, then cooly finished past Simon Mignolet in the Liverpool goal to send Old Trafford into eruption.
What a day for the young man, and hopefully this is the start of a superb career at Manchester United. Remember the name, Anthony Martial.
He reacted on Twitter shortly after:
I’m Very happy for the victory thank you all for your support @ManUtd
