Man United fans left frustrated after poor Martial display vs Newcastle

Anthony Martial dropped another disasterlcass vs Newcastle last night, with fans reacting in their droves…

Manchester United would stick another three points on the board to move back into second place in the Premier League table – though it wasn’t pretty. At all.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer won’t care one bit, mind. United won. That’s all that matters.

For us fans, we like to be more meticulous. We praise those who play well, cough cough Dan James. We critique those who struggle, ala Anthony Martial.

Watching the Frenchman play at the moment is a real chore. His lack of movement is massively concerning while the on-ball quality just isn’t there. For someone who was once the model of calmness, Martial’s evident struggles are upsetting a lot of supporters right now.

What’s sad is that he was superb last term. But right now, I’m just not sure anyone at this club has the confidence in him anymore. Against Newcastle last night he was comfortably our worst attacker, just ambling about the pitch, looking like he really couldn’t care less.

It’s disheartening, sad and confusing all at the same time. So-much-so that there’s genuine talk amongst supporters that it may be best if he’s moved on when the summer rolls around.

The general consensus is that Martial isn’t a typical number nine who is going to guarantee you 20-25+ goals every single season. The addition of Edinson Cavani last summer has only solidified that fact.

As you’d expect, United fans took to Twitter by the masses to express their disappointment with the key United star who struggled against Newcastle… It makes for pretty grim reading.
