Anthony Martial to pen new five-year Manchester United deal due to one key reason: report

Anthony Martial could be set to complete a dramatic U-turn on his future, by agreeing to a new five-year Manchester United deal.

That’s according to the usually reliable Times, who adds that the 22-year-old believes he can outlast Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

Over the summer, it looked for all the world like Martial would be off after his agent confirmed his desire to leave. However, he ended up sticking around, probably due to the fact that United didn’t want anyone else to enjoy his talents.

If he does sign that new deal, he better hope he’s right, because if Mourinho somehow turns things around and he’s already committed his future to United, it could be a long half-decade for the former AS Monaco man.

Thankfully for him, when talk of a manager being sacked comes to fruition, it’s not often that the gaffer turn things around. It tends to get inside the players heads, the dressing room becomes unhappy and then they begin to stop playing for the coach.

That could well be happening here, and honestly, it may not be long before the self-proclaimed Special One is once again unemployed. With the international break coming up, it could happen sooner than you think…
