Anthony Martial uncertain to take on Bosnia on Wednesday: report

Manchester United striker Anthony Martial is struggling for fitness.

Earlier in the week, we reported that Anthony Martial had picked up a knee problem while playing for France.

Now, we’ve been given a minor update on Martial and it comes from RMC Sport. They state that the United star is ‘not yet certain’ to play for his country on Wednesday after suffering the issue last time out.

We now know more information on the actual affected area, too. With martial suffering a ‘blow to the head of the fibula in his left knee’. He’ll undergo another medical examination today, as France look to discover just how serious the problem is.

Knee injuries can be seriously-bad, particularly if cruciate ligaments are involved. However, I get the impression Martial has avoided ligament damage as France are yet to 100% rule him out of their game on Wednesday.

I don’t doubt that United are hoping he doesn’t play – because they’ll want a fully-fit Martial for their season run-in, particularly as they’re gearing up to face off against Granada in a Europa League double-header.

It’s just a shame for Martial, who can’t seem to catch a break this term. Poor form, low on confidence and now injury problems are starting to mount up. He seriously needs some luck to go in his favour because right now, it’s all doom and gloom surrounding United’s #9.

Not too long ago, we were talking Martial up as becoming one of the best forwards in the world. That growth and development has definitely stagnated and only he, and he alone, can get that back on track. Hopefully, he finishes this season out strong and comes back with a point to prove in 2021/22.

Get well soon, Anthony!
