Antony is reluctant to leave Man United this summer, amid interest from Turkish side Fenerbahce.
Manchester United Football Club made some heavy changes to the squad during the most recent transfer window. The Old Trafford side signed some excellent players, while also clearing out some dead wood.
Although the British transfer window is now shut, it remains open in some parts of the world, like Turkey.
One of their top sides, Fenerbahce, have been eyeing a move to sign Antony.
However, according to ESPN, the United player is ‘determined’ to stay at the club despite that interest from elsewhere.
It’s stated that the player is ‘keen’ for more game time, though his preference is to remain at Old Trafford even if Fenerbahce make an official bid.
The man from Brazil has struggled for minutes to start this season, with the likes of Amad, Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford taking up the bulk of the time in the wide areas so far.
No doubt the 24-year-old will be given far more opportunities when the Europa League starts up, as that’s the point where the manager will have to start utilising his squad to its fullest.
I’m still unsure on Antony. The fact he’s so one-footed leaves me extremely worried about the long-term, while he hasn’t really displayed any consistently great form ever since making the move to Manchester.
I do agree with keeping him around for this season, though, as without him we’d be far too light in the wide areas.
Hopefully, we see some improved form from the former Ajax man in the coming months.
