Antony has been back out on the training field, ahead of a huge FA Cup semi-final for Man United vs Coventry.

It’s fair to say that Antony’s absence at the weekend is still a mystery. Some rumours suggested he’d stormed out of training after being told he wasn’t starting against Bournemouth. Others claimed he had an injury.

At the end of the day, we never will know what was up. I’d guess that he picked up a small problem on Saturday morning and the decision was made to not risk the man from Brazil. That seemed to be the general consensus, anyway.

What we do know is that Antony was in decent form before picking up that small knock.

The good news? The United star was back in training yesterday after his weekend absence, with the Brazilian now looking good to be fit for the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry on Sunday.

Antony looked good against both Liverpool and Chelsea before picking up a problem and missing the Bournemouth game, with the issue coming at an unfortunate time as he may well have started that match.

The £80m man has struggled for any sort of consistency this season, which could be partly why his performances haven’t been anywhere near up to standard. This game against an excellent Coventry side, with the eyes of the world watching, could be the platform he needs to get his individual career back on track.

With Marcus Rashford struggling, it’d be a bold call to drop the Englishman, but for my money, the right one. I feel like Antony deserves this opportunity.
