Antony has come in for praise from Rio Ferdinand, as Man United drew 3-3 with Galatasaray last night.

Manchester United drew 3-3 with Galatasaray last night as their Champions League woes seemingly continue. The Red Devils were pretty good for large stretches of that game, looking in control and playing well. Sadly, Andre Onana had other ideas…

Erik ten Hag looked visibly frustrated after the game, though if we’re trying to be positive, it was a decent display on the whole. Some players who have been struggling recently looked rather sharp – including Antony.

The man from Brazil has been poor this season. There’s no getting away from that. However, upon his return to the side yesterday, I’m pleased to report that he looked good. He was a threat down the right-hand side, was willing to try and take on his man and his decision-making was on point. His work for the third goal, in particular, was excellent.

After the game, United icon Rio Ferdinand was full of praise for the reds star, adding he ‘wants to see more’ of that going forward. I think we all do, Rio!

“Antony has been a threat tonight, I want to see more of that.” Ferdinand said live on TNT Sports, per @UtdPlug on Twitter.

When you spend such a huge sum of money on a player, you always expect great things. Antony was very hit and miss last season. This time around, it was mostly been miss. Hopefully, this is the sort of performance that will spur him on and reignite that fire in his belly, as we absolutely need to start getting some consistency from him down that right wing.

There are some massive games coming up over the next few weeks and getting some production from that area of the field could genuinely be the difference between winning and losing. It does leave Ten Hag with some tricky decisions to make, though, with only two spots for three players (Antony, Rashford, Garnacho).
