Arjen Robben rules out Manchester United move

Yet another reported Manchester United has ruled out a move to Old Trafford this summer; this time its Arjen Robben. The 31-year old winger has been an integral part of Bayern Munich’s double winning side, and almost single-handedly dumped us out of the Champions League earlier in the year.

Louis van Gaal apparently made Robben Manchester United’s #1 transfer target, however Robben himself has moved out a move away from the Allianz Arena.

“Manchester United? That’s not an option. I am staying at Bayern Munich. Period.” Robben said.

“And I cannot imagine that Bayern would want to sell me.”

“I have only just renewed my contract and we are happy with each other. It would have been a different story had I been unhappy.”

Robben becomes the second player to reject Manchester United in favour of staying in Bavaria, as Toni Kroos did the same earlier in the week – despite their being a big money offer on the table from United.

This transfer window is fast going from bad to worse, and United simply cannot afford another summer of disappointment. The club simply have to get this one right, and I hope Louis van Gaal has a few tricks up his sleeve before the transfer window ends in September.

  1. Very good news. Don’t like him. Good that all the most rediculous rumours are being given short shrift.
